Exotic flowers are a breathtaking mix of bright vibrant colors and majestic splendor. They are truly eye-catching. Unlike the more classical flowers, Exotic flowers are devoid of any romantic connotations and are thus perfect for the edgy urbanite or anyone who does not have patience with sentimentality. Another factor that makes exotic flowers very popular is the fact that they have a vase life of up to three weeks provided they are kept in conditions that mimic their natural habitat. Gifting Exotic flowers to a man is very appropriate. Unlike roses, Bamboos, bonsai, ginger or dracaena emphasize masculinity and look stylish in a luxury home or a contemporary apartment.
Exotic flowers like heliconia are native to Central and South America and the islands of the South Pacific like Hawaii. They come in all imaginable shades from reds, to yellows, to oranges and pure whites. Exotic flowers grow in mountains, lowlands forests and damn places. Infact one of the most beautiful exotic flower, the lotus, grows in Swamps. It is hard to imagine that something of such great beauty blossoms in filth!
Creating An Exotic Flower Arrangement
Here how you can create your very own vertical flower arrangements using exotic flowers. Of course you can choose whichever flower you like but for this particular arrangement I would recommend Heliconias as the most suitable choice. They can be pre-ordered from one of the myriad online florists.
Secure the foam in a vase with hot glue. Cut the stems of the tallest flowers or foliage in such a way so that it reaches to a height of 3-4 times the size of the vase.
Place the main flowers vertically within the diameter of the vase. Remember to place the smaller flower separately from the longer ones so that they do not clash into one another. Also cut of any leaves below the water line on the flower as this could lead to a bacterial growth.
Fill in the empty spaces with ferns and foliage.
Exotic flowers must be watered at least twice a day and should be placed in a cool damp spot. You may want to prune the stems every other day to ensure the flowers do not get dehydrated. Also toss in flower feed in the vase. If you follow these instructions your beautiful exotic flower arrangement out to look as good as new for 3 weeks!
