Silk flowers arrangements are used for permanent ornamental purposes. Unlike fresh flowers, which can only be kept for a week or two before they wilt, silk flowers can last for a long time without much maintenance. Also for anyone who is allergic to pollen, silk flowers are by far a better choice and what's more is that if you can arrange them aesthetically they do end up looking as good as if not better than fresh flowers.
Here's an easy way to arrange those silk flowers in a round basket.
Materials required-: a round foam filled basket (try to purchase a basket that already comes with the foam filled into it so that you don't have to do that yourself), a floral cutter, silk roses (experiment with colors) and some foliage.
Cut the stem of the rose so that the length of the rose is in proportion with the height of the basket. Stick the rose vertically into the middle of the foam.
Place stems of roses in the foam around the basket making sure you leave equal space between each flower. The number of roses that you put in would depend on the size of the basket, however it is recommended that you go for a small basket with probably 7 roses. Make sure you pay heed to adjusting the length of the stem to the height of the basket, or else your arrangement would just end up looking shabby.
Fill the empty spaces between the flowers with some more roses so as to give it an arranged clustered look. Co-ordinate the colors wisely.
After the basket is filled with roses, you can fill the empty space with foliage.
There now, doesn't that sound easy?? Most people have a misconception that making silk flower arrangements are rather elaborate and complicated. However the truth is that they are very easy to do. You can experiment with your arrangement and progress from a round basket to a cascading topiary or if you are feeling adventurous, even a wreath. The basic process of arranging the flowers remains the same. An arrangement such as the one listed above, if placed on a living room table would instantly give it a cozy look. . You mite even want to try rolling up a ball of foam and sticking flowers into it so as to create an arrangement of flowers which looks like a ball which can be hung on your wall. However to start off with do not attempt to make very large silk flower arrangements.
The key is to be imaginative and not limit yourself to the do's and the don'ts. Who knows you may just end up stumbling upon something you really enjoy doing!
